testimonials from happy clients

I wanted to thank you for giving me his trust. The bond we’ve developed since your sessions (where he learnt to trust I’d protect him) is just wonderful. He is a like a different dog – loving, gentle, and trusting. So, thank you thank you thank you

We took on a 1 year old border collie who had been in 4 different homes, had been badly treated and not mixed with other dogs. He had behavioural problems resulting in aggressive reactions when seeing other dogs. I worked with Lisa for a few months learning how to calm him and build his confidence. He is now a very calm and confident dog having recently competed in an agility competition where there were nearly 100 dogs present.

I would like to thank you for all your help and support with Arthur. Not every dog trainer will help with a large 3 year old very fearful dog who has now been transformed into a happy and relaxed dog who loves his walks in the forest, it has been life changing!

I asked Lisa for some advice following the addition of two border collie puppy brother’s three years ago. Lisa was the only person out of a string of recommended contacts that did not start my call with ‘oh, I see, two boys, hmmm, you’ll have problems there’….Lisa instead, was honest enough to say that my situation could be challenging, however, she was positive, and instantly offered to come and meet the boys.

We spent some time working on basic puppy training, and socialising, and she then even offered to be at the end of an email or call if there were any issues, and was always interested in their progress. I stayed in touch and gave regular updates, and I always received a really lovely reply.

I followed up with some intermediate obedience training, which was well structured, good fun for dog and owner, and above all, got the results!

Lisa is approachable, fair, and above all, and most importantly, kind towards all dogs, with a positive can-do approach, along with plenty of encouragement for the owner. I have already recommended her to many of my doggy friends for behaviour issues and puppy and intermediate training. Our three year old boys are well behaved, very affectionate, loving brother’s who wouldn’t be without each other, and that’s mainly thanks to Lisa!

Lisa was salvation for me as I inherited a very naughty 10 year old standard schnauzer, Harry. It was amazing to see her suss him out immediately and get him on her side. Lisa made me understand how a dog works, sees the world and why they do what they do. And all within an hour! What I loved about Lisa was how she gave me the confidence to control Harry and still be caring and loving towards him. I’m now a very proud schnauzer parent with a very happy Harry. I couldn’t recommend Lisa highly enough to anyone who wants to have a better quality of life for themselves and their dog.

We’d taken on an unwanted 2 year old, black labrador, Stanley who had “issues”. After months of lead-agression and failing to get him to come back to us at times, I was astonished to find how easy such ‘impossible’ behaviour was to change. Only one hour of sensible advice from you has made a huge difference to our dog and as a consequence, our life with him is so much better. His attitude to us changed instantly. Thank you. Ok, well I will admit our grocery bill’s larger now, buying him treats. But it’s worth it.

After attending a few different local classes I had felt totally humiliated by my dogs bad behaviour. However Lisa has taken the time to reassure me that my being on edge was increasing my dog Penny’s anxiety level, making it harder for her to stay calm. We have made great progress with the training since Lisa’s visits and will be trying another class in the near future.

Did not understand why my dog wouldn’t sit until Lisa explained that the dog didn’t understand the word sit. Now Tango is sitting at every opportunity looking for his treat.

It’s not been easy but at last can walk my dog without skiing down the road. Thanks Lisa.

We couldn’t understand why our 15 month old Terrier wouldn’t come back when called. Lisa suggested that we have to make it a game and rewarding, not just because we wanted to go home. It works.

It was no fun being flattened by our Labrador every time we came home. Lisa suggested that the jumping was ignored and only a sit rewarded with our attention and a treat. Danny now sits when we or visitors come into the house.

It’s been almost 2 years since you taught me how to go about training Harry and so I thought I’d write to you to say a big thank you for giving me such a good foundation on how to go about caring and training him. He’s grown into the most lovable, very silly and funny character who’s a delight to own.

I just wanted to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to you for your amazing classes. Bramble absolutely loves them as you know and i have found training her a lot of fun rather than hard and frustrating as it was with our last dog!

I am so impressed with your creative ideas for solving problems and the fun gentle way this is done.

So thank you from us all as we have a fun, confident, cheeky, loving dog thanks to you.

We really enjoyed your puppy classes at Pilgrims. Although I have had dogs before it was great to be updated on so much and it really motivated me to put the effort in. I particularly appreciated all the advice and I have been re-reading the handouts. These have proved to be excellent as a reminder to practise everything again and again.

Some of the successful tips were: the yak and antler chews were a revelation; peanut butter – means I can do anything to her for a lick of that (very high level treat); Fishfordogs – she loves those treats; TTouch harness and halti 2 point lead and avoiding developing an adrenalin junkie (not sure I am doing so well on this one)!

Anyway, huge thank you. You put so much effort in and it was appreciated.
